Taylor Swift refuses to hold back when discussing the intricacies of her previous relationships with her ex-boyfriends Matty Healy and Joe Alwyn.  Taylor Swift creates an intensely personal double breakup album that provides light into her feelings and experiences with cold precision.

But Daddy I Love Him,’ a particularly fascinating song, throws listeners with lyrics that seem to hint at her previous connection with the singer’s much-discussed ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

Breaking Down Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’

This time, the vocalist is lost and confused. She is vulnerable in a manner we have never heard of before. She sings about sobbing at the gym, comfort-eating kid’s cereal, and being so miserable she can’t even get out of bed. And even when she’s glowing from her Eras tour, the mourning shroud still covers her.

Once the songs were unveiled, Taylor penned an elaborate note on X (formerly known as Twitter) which read, “The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry. The Tourtured Poets Department is out now.”

Earlier, Taylor Swift has penned songs about her former boyfriends, including, Joe Jonas (Mr Perfectly Fine), Harry Styles (Style), Jake Gyllenhaal (All Too Well), and John Mayer (Dear John). Taylor Swift is currently dating NFL player Travis Kelce.
