‘Sirfire log’ opposing BJP candidates in Haryana, says ex-CM Khattar | India News

JIND: Former Haryana chief minister triggered a controversy after he made a ‘sarfira’ (crazy) remark for farmers who are opposing BJP candidates in various districts of the state. He was here in Jind district on Friday to meet BJP workers to mull over the strategy in support of Sonipat lok sabha BJP nominee Mohan Lal Badoli.
Replying to a query from media persons, ML Khattar stated that those who are opposing BJP and JJP candidates in Haryana are crazy people and everyone knows about them.(“Jo log virodh kar rahe hai vo sirfire hai aur unka sabko pata hai”).
“If 10 people oppose our candidates, 100 more come to our support therefore, BJP is getting benefits from such kinds of protests. Earlier such people used to influence while showing muscle power but now they can’t do the same thing under the regime of this government,” he added.
Notably, BJP leaders are facing strong ire of farmers in various areas of Haryana during their campaigning seeking votes for Lok Sabha elections. Even BJP leaders had to cancel their programs due to opposition from farmers.
Moreover, JJP leaders especially, former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala too have been facing such protests in the state. Farmers have alleged that these leaders took votes in the name of farmers in previous elections and later deceived them at the time of requirement.
He further stated that BJP candidates are seeking votes in the name of development works and success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government during the stint of the past 10 year. The BJP has done a remarkable job during its stint in the state and nation as well.
“We introduced a CM window to address people’s grievances timely as over 13 lakhs applications were received out of which over 11 lakhs were resolved through this system in the past nine and half years. However, we can’t solve every problem. The state government introduced online portals and online services to address people’s issues and now people are not required to run in offices for their routine work. We implemented an online transfer policy and jibes are being given on merit basis,” he said.
“We will seek votes as per promises made in the manifesto of the BJP. We will win the Sonipat lok sabha seat with a sizable margin. I will visit each segment of this Lok Sabha in support of the BJP candidate to ensure his victory,” Khattar added.
