Budget airline Ryanair is beloved for many Brits for offering one of the most low-cost fares.

But it also has one of the strictest carry-on allowances with basic fare ticket holders only allowed to bring a small backpack or handbag on board.

In a bid to dodge additional fees, travellers are resorting to extreme measures to sneak extra luggage.

A savvy passenger who has done just that has shared her top six tips to travel on a budget.

Mathilde, known on TikTok as @mathildeing, posted a video explaining how to carry as many items as possible without splashing extra cash.

In the video she boasted: “Ryanair got nothing on me.”

The footage showed the influencer carrying a huge bag – which is already included in her fare to place under her seat.

She is also seen carrying a small purse – which is included in Ryanair deals – as it’s “her right as a lady”.

She then shows off a fanny pack “smuggled” under her huge winter coat.

The content creator also stuffed her “entire skin care routine” inside the pockets of her jacket in a plastic bag.

Instead of packing up her clothes into suitcase, she recommends to wear them on to avoid costs.

The clip shows the cheeky passenger with another pair of trousers under her jeans, along with multiple layers of shirts under her jumper.

The video has now amassed thousands of views and over 300,000 likes from fellow savvy travellers.

Hundreds took to the comment section to share their best tips and experiences while travelling.

One user said: “The entire skin care routine in the jacket pocket is crazy. I love this!”

But others warned the TikToker that she might struggle to get through security.

Another user laughed: “Yes, Ryanair got nothing on you but the airport security does.”

A Ryanair gate agent also commented – saying people are in fact allowed to wear multiple clothes on.

They said: “We don’t care how many layers you wear, just don’t try to make us believe your trolley fits under the seat.”

Many shared other sneaky ways to skirt around the strict luggage requirements.

One explained: “This is beginner level. I once used my jeans around my neck like a shawl.”

Another penned: “I always have an extra WHSmith bag which I fill with hand bags and clothes – every airport has one.”

It comes as travel experts at eShores explained how paying for a luggage add-on at different times can massively change the price.

They also revealed when the best time to book your baggage is – to make sure you always get the cheapest deal.
