The PM also targeted the Congress, challenging them to announce the restoration of Article 370, which he said was a wall between the J&K and rest of the country which he demolished and buried its debris. Modi said that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is the first election when terrorism, separatism, stone pelting, hartal and firing from across the border are not the election issues.
“J&K is touching new heights of development and increase in trust…what has happened till now is just a trailer. I have to strive for a new and fabulous J&K…Assembly elections will happen in J&K and it will get back statehood. You could share your dreams with your legislators and your ministers,” said Modi. The PM said that only one slogan is resonating in J&K, “Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar.” He urged people to vote for BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh from Udhampur constituency and Jugal Kishore from Jammu constituency.
“Congress, NC, People’s Democratic Party and other parties want to regress J&K into the old days. These parties running on dynastic politics harmed the J&K most. Here political parties mean ‘Of the family, By the family, For the family’,” Modi alleged.
The PM accused the regional parties and Congress of creating a wall of Article 370 so that people of J&K couldn’t peek into the outer world and an outsider couldn’t look inside. “They had created a delusion that Article 370 was a lifeline. They were running this lie for several years. I challenge any political party, especially Congress, to let them announce that they will bring back Article 370, this country will be ready to even see their face,” said Modi.
