It is not yet fully functional, as it was discovered by hawk-eyed Android expert AssembleDebug in the latest beta release of Google Messages.

However, AssembleDebug explained in a blog post that once it is full working order, the feature can be accessed by long-pressing a message that users want to correct.

Google could roll out the feature to millions of users as early as late February, according to AssembleDebug, which is just days away.

Alternatively, it may be launched early next month.

In September, Google gave Messages a homescreen redesign.

In November, the app began testing a noise cancellation feature for calls and voice notes.

Google following in Meta’s footsteps has left some Android fans wondering whether they might ditch WhatsApp, Viber or Telegram for good.
