Flight attendant reveals why you should always book mid-morning flights – and ditch the early morning wake up

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed why UK holidaymakers should ALWAYS book mid-morning flights.

The seasoned flyer said she can “confidently” say why the specific time of the day is best, after taking “many flights” herself.

Cabin crew member Sif Björnsdóttir said that Brits should ditch early or late flights and reap the benefits because of a few perks that present themselves when booking between breakfast and lunch time.

She said: “Mid-morning flights should be top of the list for UK travellers wanting the most comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.

“You can avoid the rush hour of early or late flights, meaning shorter queues at security checkpoints, check-in counters, and boarding gates.

“You can also get a much better sleep the night before, reducing the fatigue and jet lag that transatlantic flights may bring.”

She went on to explain that last minute holiday hunters can also benefit from mid-morning bookings because it gives the flyer additional time to finalise all of their travel documents.

As well as documents, it can also provide extra time to get any last minute tasks done – a handy tip for busy families trying to get everything in order before flying out on an expensive trip.

She said: “10 or 11am can also be a great choice for those shorter or domestic flights, allowing you time to arrive at your destination at a decent time and take advantage of your first day away.”

Acording to an expert: Three germ-infested plane areas you should avoid

From tray tables to headrests – a mystery air steward has revealed exactly where you should avoid putting your hands.

Tray tables: They first turned her attention to tray tables – something that passengers usually think little about which are usually used for food consumption or being a resting spot for personal items and electronic devices.

They said: “Given their multifunctional use and the fact that cleaning crews often have limited time between flights, tray tables may not receive a thorough cleaning, leading to a significant buildup of bacteria and viruses.

“This makes them a prime location for the transmission of illnesses.”

Seat-back pockets: The veteran flyer also discussed seat-back pockets.

The handy compartments were designed to hold books, electronics and travel essentials, but the steward said that they often hold “trash, used tissues, and food wrappers” which could contribute to the growth of bacteria.

They said: “The cleaning of these pockets is not always thorough, leading to the accumulation of germs over time.”

Headrests: Another significant germ zone is hearests, the former flight attendant said.

“Direct contact with passengers’ heads and hair means headrests can accumulate oils, sweat, and potentially infectious particles.

“Without regular and thorough cleaning, headrests can contribute to the spread of germs.”
