Imphal (Manipur): A Flag march was held by security personnel in Manipur, in view of upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 17. In Manipur, voting will take place in two phases for its 2 seats on April 19 and April 26. While speaking on the security arrangements, Ksh. Shivakanta Singh, SP Imphal West said that security arrangements in the Imphal West have been met. He further said, “Security arrangements in my district Imphal West have been met. The place that I am standing in is also a sensitive location, we have deployed central paramilitary forces at sensitive locations. We have also deployed our commando teams and police personnel. Three layers of security have been covered by the Army, CRPF and state police. In relation to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, all the fringe areas have been covered. I think it will be perfectly fine. Police are taking all the necessary action for the safety of the public. For other vulnerable and critical polling stations, we have deployed central paramilitary forces. In other places, we armed police personnel in order to ensure free and fair elections.”
