It has been reported that the mishap took place on the Phagwara-Chandigarh road in Punjab, where an overspeeding luxury sedan crashed into the truck when it was turning back.

According to the reports, the driver died on the spot during the accident, while the co-passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The exact reason for the accident is still not known yet. It is not even confirmed whether it was caused by failure of breaks or losing control of the steering wheel. However, the visual, which has been shared on Instagram as a reel, clearly showcases Mercedes Benz’s flagship sedan in a completely damaged condition.

The list includes multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines, automatic braking during unwanted situations, and Acceleration Skid Control, which prevents the drive wheels from slipping among others.

Powertrain

The model is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The former features a 3-litre unit with 48V mild-hybrid tech, generating a maximum power of 361 bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm, while the latter uses a similar powertrain with different power figures. It churns out a maximum 282 bhp and 600Nm of peak torque.
