UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exams 2024 Postponed: The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) has postponed the examination dates for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination- 2024 which was slated to be held on May 26, 2024. The exam dates have been postponed in view of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. “Due to the schedule of the impending General Election, the Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024 which also serves as screening test for Indian Forest Service Examination, 2024 from 26-05- 2024 to 16-06-2024,” reads the official notice.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Revised Exam Date

It is to be noted that the Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the Services and Posts will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on June 16, 2024. Now speaking of the election dates, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the dates for Lok Sabha and four state Assembly elections.

  1. Phase 1 elections will be held on April 19, and the last date for making nominations is March 27. Polls will be held in 21 States and Union Territories; thus Phase 1 election dates do not clash with the ICAI CA Intermediate and Final Exam.
  2. Phase 2 elections will be held on April 26, the last date for nominations for candidates is April 4. The second phase will cover 12 States and Union Territories; thus phase 2 election dates do not clash with ICAI CA Intermediate and Final exams
  3. Phase 3 elections will be held on May 7, and the last date for nominations for candidates is April 19. The third phase will cover 12 States and Union Territories. Kindly note that ICAI Intermediate, Final, and PQC Exams will be held from May 2 to May 13, 2024; thus ICAI CA exam dates are not clashing or overlapping.
  4. Phase 4 elections will be held on May 13, and the last date for nominations for candidates is April 25. The fourth phase will cover 10 States and Union Territories. It is to be noted that the National Testing Agency will hold the CUET UG exam from May 15 to May 31, 2024.
  5. Phase 5 elections will be held on May 20, the last date for nominations for candidates in May 3. The fifth phase will cover 8 States and Union Territories.
  6. Phase 6 elections will be held on May 25, the last date for nominations for candidates is May 6. The sixth phase will cover 7 States and Union territories. It is to be noted that the Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the Services and Posts will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on May 26, 2024.
  7. Phase 7 elections will be held on June 1, and the last date for nominations for candidates is May 14. The seventh phase will cover 8 States and Union Territories.
