UPSC CSE 2024 Official Notification Release Date

As mentioned earlier, the official notification or complete schedule for the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE 2024) will be released on Valentine’s Day, i.e. February 14, 2024. The notification will include important dates related to the exam, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, age limit and other details.

UPSC CSE 2024: Exam Date, Other Important Dates

The UPSC 2024 Exam Calendar, released in May 2023 and it specified that the notification will be out on Feb 14 and that the application process will also begin on the same day. The registration deadline is March 5, 2024; the Preliminary Examination is expected to take place on May 26, 2024 and the Mains will be held on October 19, 2024.

UPSC CSE 2024: Eligibility Criteria, Age Limit

The eligibility criteria includes the educational qualifications and the age limit. Speaking of the age limit, the minimum age requirement is 21 years while the upper age limit is 32 years. In educational qualifications, an aspirant must at least hold a BA degree recognised by the Central or State governments of India, educational institutions which are authorised by the Parliament or universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

UPSC CSE 2024: Application Fee, Exam Pattern

The application fee that every candidate must pay is Rs 100 which is based on the patterns of the previous years. Women and SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

As mentioned earlier, the examination pattern includes three papers – the Civil Services Preliminary Exam which is objective in nature and has multiple choice questions, the Civil Services Mains Exam that is a subjective paper with long-answer questions and the Civil Services Interview.
