BRITS are braced for thunderstorms and hail to hit today with the Met Office warning of heavy rain and blustery winds.
Wet and windy conditions could be on the cards after a warm spell for many across the country in the past few days.

The Met Office’s latest forecast for today says that rain will be present in the northwest while a weak band of rain will persist in southeast regions.
Meteorologists say that northwestern regions of the country could experience the “odd rumble of thunder and possible hail”.
Those affected will likely see the blustery weather turning cooler as the day goes on.
Tonight’s weather could see better conditions in the southeast with “clear spells developing”, say forecasters.
But the Met Office added that “heavy showers” may hit Brits in northern parts of the UK.
And conditions could even be “wintry on high ground”, according to the weather service.
Sunday will generally be bright, breezy and somewhat cooler than the past days.
Monday is set to be the windiest day of the week, with gales in exposed parts which are expected to ease down through Tuesday.
But the Met Office said temperatures will feel “notably cooler” early next week.
A spokesperson said: “Generally bright, breezy and cooler on Sunday. Showers in the northwest, spreading to all parts on Monday.
“A notably cooler feel as temperatures drop to average for April.
“Winds from the north or northwest are expected to affect the UK at the start of this period. This brings showers or some longer spells of rain, these most frequent across the north and northwest.
“Some heavy rain is possible at times with a risk of snow over high ground. However, further south conditions will be drier and brighter. Temperatures will mostly be below normal.”
April showers in the north west will spread to all parts on Monday and temperatures will sink to the annual average.
Parts of Dorset and Wiltshire could be hit by groundwater floods over the weekend.
In Wales, amber flood alerts are in place for the River Dee and south Pembrokeshire.

Turning drier on Tuesday but more rain for Wednesday.
