Troopers arrest man after assault on I-95 in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT — State troopers on Saturday arrested a man in connection with an alleged assault that took place on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 amid busy holiday weekend traffic, officials said.

Troopers responded shortly before 2:45 p.m. to the area of Exit 27A after dispatchers received a report of a “non-active assault,” according to the Connecticut State Police.

When they arrived, the officers found an individual suffering from multiple injuries, police said. Police did not describe the nature of the injuries, but said they were not considered life-threatening.
