Mumbai: Bollywood actress and dancer, Nora Fatehi recently spoke out about facing mistreatment from some big names in the entertainment industry. She described encounters that left her feeling disrespected, hinting at bullying and humiliation by male co-stars. Fatehi suggests this negativity might be due to a preference for other female actors in their circles. In a recent interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, actress Nora Fatehi spoke out about facing disrespect in the industry. She shared that this behavior is unfortunately common, and she’s encountered it again quite recently.
Nora Fatehi Reveals Facing Criticism In The Industry
“People gossip behind your back, and somehow you find out what they said,” Fatehi explained. “They act entitled to bully others, and there’s a lack of accountability (sic).”Fatehi attributes her ability to navigate these situations to the perception of being strong and unpredictable. She also highlighted the challenges she faces for defying expectations of being submissive, something some male co-stars seem to prefer. In a recent interview, Nora Fatehi spoke out about facing criticism for her confident and direct personality in the entertainment industry. She explained that some people are surprised by her self-assuredness and straightforwardness, and she feels they sometimes hold it against her. Fatehi went on to clarify that her directness is not meant to be disrespectful, but rather a reflection of her genuine personality. She treats everyone with respect but is also comfortable speaking her mind and offering help to those in need.
Sharing some personal anecdotes, Fatehi opened, “If I feel something is off, I’ll say it. But some people don’t like that. Some people prefer girls who are quiet, submissive, someone who looks like they need the work. I don’t give that power to anybody. And then they’ll say things like, ‘She’s nothing, she’s nobody, she’s not talented, why is she here?’ All that happens, and then they see you again at certain events. They seem to not be able to brush you off, wherever you go, they’re there too, and this irritates them more. You’re slowly climbing up and reaching where they are, and they don’t want that (sic).”
Fatehi spoke about the negativity she faces aimed at bringing her down. She said, “People try to bully you, put you down, and gossip about you.” When asked why she is so open about these issues, she replied, “People talk badly about me all the time, that’s nothing new (sic).”
Fatehi also mentioned that her friends are surprised that she has never been exploited in Bollywood. She explained, “I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid that, and I know why. I think it might have almost happened once, but my personality is a bit intimidating, so they probably thought, ‘Not with her, she’ll fight back.’ These people, whether they’re celebrities or not, are basically predators (sic)” Fatehi concluded.
Nora Fatehi’s Work Front
Nora started working young, at the age of 16, which she says limited her ability to experience a typical youth. On the film front, she recently appeared in both Vidyut Jamwal’s “Crakk” and Kunal Khemu’s directorial debut, “Madgaon Express.”
