‘The Traitors’ Season 2 Winner(s) Break Their Silence: “It Was a Crazy Ending”

Tamburello: I don’t know what you’re talking about—I slept in that castle quite a bit, okay? Perched over by that big window in the breakfast room, that little daybed, that was my spot.

Cannatella: I took a few naps there too. Oh, I was surprised that we didn’t have a lot of time to actually talk game. So again, going back with the Peppermint vote, I had only had 10 to 12-minute conversations with some of the people, her included. I barely talked to Sandra, so I didn’t get to talk to a lot of people in the beginning. Because there’s so many people there, they want to capture everything on camera. But how are you going to film 22 people?

Tamburello: The game was trying to keep you in a state of confusion.

There were some new twists this season that put a bit more power back in the faithfuls’ hands, like the poison chalice and keeping secret who earned a shield. What twists would you like to see in season 3?

Tamburello: Maybe put it in some more secret rooms. It would be funny to see people scouring through the whole castle, looking for the shield. It could be under a floorboard. It could be in a book, trap door. There’s a combination lock or something, you’re looking for a key.

Cannatella: I would like to see something where a couple traitors were picked by Alan and then maybe one or two traitors, it was random. Because you think about who producers would try to pick. Once Dan said Phaedra’s name, I was like, “Yeah, duh. That makes sense. She’s so smart. Her one-liners are amazing. She would be a great traitor.” So my head was thinking production-wise, I would choose her. But if it’s random, it could have been Bergie [Bergersen].

Tamburello: So how do you do that? They could spin a wheel?

Cannatella: I don’t know. Or open those little treasure chests, see who won.

Tamburello: Spin the wheel, and then whoever it lands on, Alan goes up and gives the final touch. That’d be interesting.

And what do you plan to do with the prize money?

Tamburello: None of your business.

Cannatella: I haven’t gotten it yet, so I haven’t even thought about it. I’m like, “Wait, is it really coming?”

It won’t feel real ‘til that deposit hits.

Cannatella: I keep forgetting. Also, I’ve been trying to keep it secret so much that I convinced myself that I hadn’t won until I saw the last episode.
