The Fire Nation Grows as Prince Zuko Actor Makes Baby Announcement

Dante Basco, the man behind everyone’s favorite angsty, redeemed prince of the Fire Nation, is going to be a dad! Basco served as the voice of Prince Zuko in the original animated version of Avatar: The Last Airbender, starring alongside Zach Tyler Eisen as Aang, Mae Whitman as Katara, Jack De Sena as Sokka, and Michaela Jill Murphy as Toph. Now, years after he reclaimed his honor and defeated Fire Lord Ozai, the real-life Zuko is facing a whole new challenge: becoming a father.

Fans flooded the comments of the baby announcement with well-wishes and Zuko-themed jokes, as is to be expected. It’s safe to say that Dante Basco is going to have his hands full in the coming months, both with the baby and his career. Avatar: The Last Airbender has seen a new burst in popularity recently with the release of Netflix’s live-action adaptation, which has gotten renewed for two more seasons. While Basco’s not directly involved in that, he is going to be reprising his role as Zuko in Aang: The Last Airbender, Paramount and Nickelodeon’s upcoming attempt at reviving the animated series in movie form.

So far, it looks like Basco will be the only member of the original cast returning, but the movie isn’t scheduled for release until 2026 and, as Dante Basco and his wife have shown, things can always change.
