The best country to be a British expat has fantastic ‘work-life balance’ ‌ | Travel News | Travel

Dream of leaving the UK? The cost of living crisis has left many Britons thinking about making the jump overseas.

But where’s the best place to be a British expat?

While there are many important factors to consider when making the choice to move abroad, there are a few destinations that consistently top lists of the best places to live.

According to a new ranking from the experts at deVere group, Denmark is the best country in the world to be a British expat.

A spokesperson said: “The expat community in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, say they have a better work-life balance than anywhere else in the world.

“More than 80 percent of respondents reported being happy with their working hours, compared to an average of six in 10 globally.”

Despite this, expats might want to think about mastering some Danish before making the move. According to deVere’s research, language can be a barrier to getting a job in Denmark.

Although English is widely spoken in Denmark, it’s a good idea to speak at least some of the native language to get a job.

Denmark also enjoys a relatively low rate of violent crime and has higher living standards than much of Europe.

Its roads are also some of Europe’s safest and many of Copenhagen’s residents choose to travel to work by bike.

Expats living in Denmark will also have easy access to the UK with many budget flights available between Copenhagen and major British airports.
