Each contestant is identified by their floor number throughout the series, with big names like Ryu Jun Yeol (Floor 3) and Chun Woo Hee (Floor 8) adding star power to the mix. Floor 8 (Chun Woo Hee): Unlike the others solely motivated by money, Chun’s character embraces the unpredictable nature of the game for the sheer entertainment value. Her free spirit and the thrill she experiences promise to add a unique spark to the show.
Floor 7 (Park Jeong Min): The strategic mastermind of the group, Park’s character is the first to crack the game’s code and devise winning strategies. He’s bound to be a key player.

As per the official logline from Netflix Korea, the beauty or perhaps the horror of The 8 Show lies in its lack of requirements. No special skills or knowledge are needed, just the contestants’ most valuable asset: their time. The cryptic teaser trailer hints at a game filled with randomness and bizarre events, from contestant number 3 filming himself in a “mukbang” (competitive eating) to a chaotic scene where everyone races in the same direction.
Glimpses of a contestant (Floor 8) diving into a waterless pool, another one (Floor 4) in shock, and a third one (Floor 5) breaking down in tears suggest a game that escalates from amusement to danger and emotional turmoil. The presence of people watching on a closed-circuit TV and the recurring 8 logo, symbolizing infinity, further heighten the intrigue surrounding this enigmatic game.
Directed by Han Jae Rim, The 8 Show is set to premiere on Netflix on May 17th.
