Chennai: Actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay popularly called ‘Thalapathy’ has been grabbing headlines since the actor will be shortly seen in an action thriller flick. On the occasion of Eid, Joseph Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu have confirmed the release date of their highly anticipated movie “The Greatest of All Time” (also known as “The GOAT”). Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT To Be Released On This Date
Vijay taking to X/ Twitter shared a new poster of his upcoming highly anticipated film. In the newly released poster, Thalapathy had a fierce look, playing a dual role in Venkat Prabhu’s film it is speculated that the older version is supposed to have a salt and pepper look, while the younger version of Vijay was seen clean-shaved. On X Joseph Vijay wished his massive fan following on the occasion of Eid and revealed the release date of Thalpathy’s GOAT which read, “September Fifth”.

On the other hand GOAT director, Venkat Prabhu took to X/ Twitter and expressed, “Eid vaazhthukaludan.. vinayaga chathurthi ku varrom #TheGreatestOfAllTime from SEPTEMBER 5th!! About GOAT
The new posters for the upcoming film “GOAT” showcase Vijay in double roles. One character appears to be younger, likely achieved with the use of de-aging technology. To portray this character, Vijay adopted a clean-shaven look. This marks director Venkat Prabhu’s first collaboration with Vijay. The movie also boasts a star-studded cast including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music, with Siddhartha Nuni behind the cinematography and Venkat Raajen on editing duties.
Thalapathy Vijay On Entering Politics
In a February announcement, actor Vijay revealed plans to enter politics by forming the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party and contesting in the 2026 elections. Citing the divisive political environment and widespread corruption, Vijay expressed his vision for a progressive, secular government free from such issues.
