The latest reports indicates that Telugu superstar Nagarjuna has been brought on board to portray a key character in the Rajinikanth’s next.
Rajinikanth has always been a fan favourite. Every time an actor announces the film, it creates massive anticipation among the audience. Now, Thalaivar 171 is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious projects that fans have been waiting for. Though not much update about the film is out in the public, the latest report suggests that Telugu superstar Nagarjuna has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the Rajinikanth-starrer.
While there hasn’t been any official confirmation to substantiate this rumour, certain prominent Telugu reports suggest the actor’s involvement in the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj project, with an official announcement anticipated shortly. Earlier, reports also claimed that the film also features Shruti Haasan. As per the details, Haasan will be playing the role of Rajinikanth’s daughter in the upcoming film. Veteran actress Shobana is also said to be in talks with the maker of the film.
Coming to Nagarjuna, the actor is currently playing an important role in Dhanush’s film. Prior to this, Nagarjuna impressed his fans by portraying a unique role in heart touching film ‘Oopiri’ and shared screen space with Tamil actor Karthi. “He likes doing multi-hero films without denting his popularity and charisma. He is looking forward to working with Rajinikanth for whom he has good respect and regard,” he points out.

Additionally, reports suggest that Lokesh has enlisted Ranveer Singh for a pivotal role in the film. While official confirmation is pending, sources within the production team have hinted at the actor’s significant part in the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer. Besides Ranveer, rumours are circulating that Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan may also make a cameo appearance in the movie.
Although the makers of the film have yet to announce the title, many popular Reddit pages suggest that the film’s title has already been leaked. While certain sources mention the film’s title as Raa Naa, alternative rumours indicate it may be titled Thangam. Nevertheless, audiences await an official confirmation.
