America’s tallest waterslide is slated to launch this Memorial Day Weekend at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin.
Called The Rise of Icarus, the towering ride measures a staggering 145ft high and it is made up of five different slides.
One run loops around from its top platform, while four other slides are fixed at a 60ft-high middle deck.
A description of the ride on the park’s website reads: ‘As the Greek myth goes, Icarus soared too close to the sun on wings fastened to his body with wax, with the heat of the sun melting the wax and Icarus falling to the sea.

The water park revealed on its Facebook page that it had put the slide to the test this week and it ‘passed.’
Many commenters have already expressed their excitement around the hotly-anticipated ride opening.
One fan wrote: ‘Very cool, that looks amazing, you all did a great job building that.’
Another commenter said they ‘literally cannot wait’ to try the slide out.
However, some people noted the lack of an elevator.
To get to the top slide, called The Fall, park-goers are required to climb more than ten flights of stairs.

Other additions set to open include 12,000 sq ft children’s area complete with 10 slides and an extended deck area with lounge chairs and air conditioned cabanas.
Family-owned Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park has been in operation since 2004.
Over the years it has expanded to include a Rome-themed hotel and a camp resort, along with indoor and outdoor water and theme park rides.
In 2022 it became home to America’s first rotating waterslide, with the Medusa Slidewheel ‘combining the movement of a Ferris wheel and the deep and thrill of a waterslide.’
Commenting on the latest addition, park owner Nick Laskaris said: ‘The Rise of Icarus will be the ultimate experience for thrill seekers in Wisconsin Dells.’
