From playing a comic role, a romantic one, now Mrinal Dutt essayed the role of freedom fighter Madan Lal Dhingra in Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. In an exclusive conversation with India.com, he opened about his experience of working with Randeep, facing several rejections, and his transformative journey preparing for the role.
Mrinal Dutt on Being Madan Lal Dhingra
Swatantra Veer Savarkar is a period film that speaks of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India. When asked how he landed the role, with excitement in his voice he said, ” One day I got a call from a casting director saying that Randeep Hooda wants to meet you. It got me excited. If I am to work in Bollywood, Randeep sir would be among the top three in my list. He offered me the role and I jumped on the opportunity. After all the discussion I got signed for the role just 10 days before the shoot started.”
