Those wishing to grab better tickets are looking at prices over £2,000pp.

So, we’ve rounded up the best races to attend and make a holiday out of it in 2024 – with European race destinations for a similar price.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

The Monaco Grand Prix is considered one of the world’s ‘most exclusive sporting events’.

The tiny streets of Monte Carlo challenge drivers and allow close-up views of the action for fans.

Plus, the track transforms into a massive nightclub when the racing is done for the day.

The streets are lined with pop-up bars and massive sound systems, with people partying as late as 5am before the roads are cleaned, and racing resumes the next day.

The 78 laps race takes place from May 24 to May 26, 2024, so the temperatures should be hitting the mid-20s.

Monte Carlo has more than 250 days of sunshine every year, so you can expect good weather to explore when the racing isn’t happening.

Outside the track, visitors should visit the French Riviera, which has renowned boutiques and chic restaurants.

Larvotto Beach is the most popular and is one of the few free beaches near the city.

Larvotto is known for its crystal-clear waters, soft pebble beach and plenty of space to sunbathe.

Another must-see is the Solarium beach, an artificially created swimming area along the harbour. However, swimming is unsupervised and in deep waters, so inexperienced swimmers and families shouldn’t go in.

Monza, Italy

Just turned 100 years old, the Monza circuit is the oldest track on the calendar.

Since 1950, all but one of the World Championship rounds have taken place at the Milan suburbia’s city park circuit.

What makes it even more special is that many original turns from that era are still part of today’s track configuration.

This circuit is significant for Formula One enthusiasts and especially for the “Tifosi” of Ferrari.

In the lead-up to race days, many events are usually held in Milan, with drivers making appearances and even stopping for selfies.

Beyond the racetrack, Milan is known as the fashion capital of Italy and for its iconic landmarks like the Duomo and Sforza Castle.

Those wishing to travel further can even visit Bellagio, known as the ‘Pearl of Lake Como’.

Here, you’ll have to visit the Villa Serbelloni Park, an 18th-century terraced garden with an incredible lake view and a great spot for pictures.

Food lovers will also enjoy this circuit more than others as they can try out the Italian cuisine at local restaurants or even head on vineyard tours and wine tastings.

Spa, Belgium

Spa is the longest circuit in Formula 1, and it’s known for its many twists and turns, even though it was downsized in 1981.

After returning to the calendar in 1983, it quickly became a legendary track and has hosted the race virtually every year since.

What makes it even better is Spa is reining champion’s Verstappen, home race, so you will find a sea of orange t-shirts supporting him.

In fact, the track is often referred to as one of the best racing spectacles of the year, as it is the ultimate test of a driver’s composure and talent.

The 2023 champion even said Spa is his favourite circuit and drivers ‘have to do everything right to get a good lap, which is very challenging.’

This Grand Prix is good for those looking for a city break, as you could visit Liège, which is only about 45 minutes away from the track.

The city is filled with landmarks, such as the Church of St. Bartholomew, the Grand Curtius Museum, and Opéra Royal de Wallonie, where operas have been performed since 1820.

During race week, there are also pop-up shops and events happening all around the circuit, so you won’t be short on things to do before or after leaving the track.
