Silvia Tcherassi Pre-Fall 2024: Review, Photos – WWD

Silvia Tcherassi’s pre-fall 2024 collection was an exploration of the Colombian designer’s archives that span three decades of her elegant design codes.

The collection focused on an inspiration of the “flow and freedom of water,” which was interpreted both directly with design motifs like coral and shells, as well as more loosely with styles like a draped jersey silk dress.

Tcherassi put a modern spin on many of her popular archival styles, such as a leather blazer created in multiple colors that was accented with an embellished trim and a floral stitched pattern. The designer also reintroduced a floral appliqué style she created for a previous bridal collection, updating the dress by making it in a mini version. There were sequined gowns from the archives, one of which was originally created as a custom look for a client and was later introduced into a main collection.

“From the archives, what we look for is always intricate details and trying to present the highest form of luxury of the brand,” said Mauricio Espinosa Tcherassi, Tcherassi’s son and the brand’s chief commercial officer. “And, of course, to also show as a global brand that presents four collections a year, that can dress a woman in the city, that can dress a woman in every aspect. That’s really what we’re aiming for with this collection.”

Tcherassi explained that the collection also takes inspiration from Capri, which is where the brand recently opened its latest boutique.

The designer brought back laser-cut florals for the pre-fall collection, a technique she’s only recently started using. The technique was used in several feminine styles, such as cropped leather jackets and bralettes.

Overall, the pre-fall collection showed Tcherassi’s understanding of her luxury clientele, showing a range of feminine, timeless styles that feel modern while sticking true to her design roots.
