Amazon’s latest campaign for same-day delivery stars’ Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson East and her husband Andrew East, a former NFL football player. The athletic couple and podcast hosts of “Couple Things” spent the day as Amazon Flex drivers to fulfill orders for Amazon’s delivery service for local families.
The Easts stopped at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt — the couple has frequently worked with the hospital for more than 15 years — to visit football fan and gymnastics fan families before heading to Gaby’s Gymnastics School, where they surprised a young gymnastics class and led warm-up stretches.
“We use Amazon literally every single day, especially same-day delivery,” Johnson East told WWD. “And now that they have like a hub here [in Nashville], I fully take advantage of it.” She later joked that “[Amazon] probably saw us as one of their most frequent customers.”
A self-proclaimed “geek,” Andrew East said the partnership was a great opportunity for him to see the logistics and operation side behind the scenes of the e-commerce giant’s fulfillment and see where their family’s deliveries come from.

Moreover, Johnson East said after being an Amazon delivery driver for the day, it gave her a “newfound respect and admiration” for them.
“It was really special to see how everything worked and to see how many Flex drivers were coming in, picking up their packages and going out,” she said. “Hearing the flexibility of it, how it operates and works for the drivers was really cool.”
Andrew East said he was “taken away” by the “millions of items” available for the same-day delivery. “Amazon is a beast of a business. You’re in the fulfillment center and they have all these lines of where you can and can’t be. Their processes make everything really safe. And they’re just shipping things left and right.”
On Johnson East’s Amazon storefront, the couple walked around their house as they compiled a list of items available for same-day holiday delivery, everything from everyday essentials to last-minute gift ideas to hosting necessities. The list includes a range of items across the fashion, beauty, sports, home and kitchen categories, all for less than $60.
Fan-favorite products include Stanley Quencher H.20 tumbler, Wilson NFL football, Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in berry, Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes, Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides powder, Adidas Women’s VL Court 3.0 sneaker, Carhartt Men’s Knit Cuffed beanie and more.
Andrew East revealed that he is surprising Johnson East with a heated vest and socks he found on Amazon that she’s has been looking for a while, as she gets particularly cold during Nashville winters.
Speaking about their favorite memories from 2024, the couple said going to Paris and the Summer Olympics as a family of five — Johnson East gave birth to her son Barrett in December 2023 — was a special experience.
“It was a phenomenal year. Our daughter talks about Paris every day. We got into the routine of it and we’re figuring it out, but looking forward to next year after having traveled as a family of five pretty extensively this year, we went to London, Paris and Italy.”
Andrew East also shared that the family is going skiing in a month for the first time and are starting to get their kids into sports, “which is a really fun phase of life for us.”
