Thiruvananthapuram: On Kerala government approaching Supreme Court to release four bills passed by the state Legislative Assembly, which are pending with the Office of the President, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor says, ” I have not studied the complaint in detail…it does seem likely strange because the President is the ultimate authority under the Constitution and she does have the right to assent and not assent or to delay. There have been bills that were stayed for 15 years…we will have to see what the Supreme Court says about this. My view is that there is definitely a certain political angle involved in filing such a case during the election season. We are all in favour of true federalism and we are not interested in Centre pushing its authority over the state…”
