Known for his signature touch of grandeur, allure, and evocative tones, Sanjay Leela Bhansali acknowledged his shift to working on a show where each episode resembles a cinematic masterpiece, making Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar even more monumental. “I’ve made big films, I enjoy making those big-scale films, and it comes naturally to me. But while shifting to digital with Netflix, I’ve taken it up a notch. Heeramandi is my biggest project; I wanted to make it really special and I have surprised myself with this one,” he explained during a press meet held in February 2023, underscoring the uniqueness and grandeur of this venture.
The series comprises a cast of sparkling heeras, including the supremely talented Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, who bring to life this fascinating and enigmatic world. Together, they personify grace on screen, each contributing to the irresistible odyssey of Heeramandi.
