Sandeep Reddy Vanga Takes Offense of Adil Hussain Saying He Regrets Doing Kabir Singh, Tells Him Replacing Your Face With AI

Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga doesn’t agree with Adil Hussain’s criticism of his film, tells him that he would change his face with the help of AI if he feels so ashamed by his presence in it.

Adil Hussain vs Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Kabir Singh

Delhi: Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s new tweet shows he simply can’t take criticism – something that he has proven time and again when dealing with all the feedback that comes his way during the release of his films. This time, it was Adil Hussain, a senior actor who played a small role in his film ‘Kabir Singh’, offending Vanga with his statements. The actor was asked in an interview recently about the film that he regrets doing and he mentioned ‘Kabir Singh‘ in his answer. The film wasn’t received widely well anyway and had its good share of criticism from both critics and the audience who thought of it as blatantly sexist with a story that glorified toxic masculinity – the kind of criticism that Vanga‘s films usually receive. However, when Hussain said it, the director felt a strong urge to give back to him – proving yet again that ‘graceful’ is not his middle name.

Vanga told Khan in a quick tweet that if he feels so sad about working in ‘Kabir Singh’ then he will replace his face with the help of AI and ‘save’ him from the shame. The director made a harsh post on Twitter and touched a new low by commenting on the ‘fame’ that Adil Hussain enjoys after a long career. The post was intended to humiliate an artiste who is known for his prolific work in a certain kind of cinema and with films like ‘English Vinglish’, ‘Agent Vinod’, and ‘Bell Bottom’ in mainstream cinema. Attacking the actor in his tweet, Vanga wrote “Ur ‘belief’ in 30 art films didn’t get as much fame to u as ur ‘regret’ of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did 👏 I regret casting u, knwing that ur greed is bigger than ur passion. NOW I’ll save U from the shame by replacing Ur face with AI help👍 Now smile properly 🙂 (sic).”

The post was in retaliation for the statement that Adil Hussain made in one of his interviews. During a podcast, the actor answered a question with humour and honesty and said, “That’s the only film in my life that I have done without reading the script, without seeing the movie on which it is based. I regret it till today. The only movie I have regretted doing is that film… Kabir Singh.” He added that Kabir Singh was a “misogynist” film that made him feel “small as a human being’”.

Hussain went on to dig deeper into the problem and explained how a film like Kabir Singh should have no place in a progressive society. He said, “I think a film like this, celebrates something which is not beneficial for society. It legitimises male misogyny. It legitimises violence against anybody for that matter, doesn’t have to be a woman. And it celebrates it, it glorifies it and it should not be glorified.” The actor further talked about how he didn’t want to do the film initially due to time issues and he asked his manager to quote a hefty amount so that the makers refuse to have him in the first place.

The Parched actor revealed that he felt so embarrassed when the film came out and he didn’t want his wife to watch it. “I told my manager, ask them lot of money and they will say no but they agreed so I went and did it and I liked the scene. The scene I did is a good scene so I thought the film is also going to be good. So I go to watch the film and I thought what am I doing here? You have no idea how I felt. I felt so embarrassed,” he said.

Earlier, Sandeep Reddy Vanga failed to take any negative feedback on social media or elsewhere about ‘Animal’ being misogynist and excessively violent. Seems like the saga of arrogance and haughtiness continues!
