Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is popularly known for making films like ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, is enjoying success with his latest blockbuster hit film ‘Animal’, starring Ranbir Kapoor. As anticipation for his next magnum opus ‘Spirit’ increases, the director recently stated in an interview that he would like to direct a biopic on one of the most renowned international music superstars, Michael Jackson.
In a conversation with Baradwaj Rangan for Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “I want to do a biopic sometime. I would like to direct the biopic of Michael Jackson. But the question is, who will play him, who will be the actor? But if you get an actor, you can pitch it to Hollywood and you can make it in English. He led a very interesting life, right from his childhood to his schooling and how he changed his skin colour and all. It’s a great journey and a great story. But who would be the right actor, that’s the question. That will be a dream and everybody will buy the ticket. Whoever directs it, I would buy the tickets and watch it because I want to know.” This news has increased the excitement level among the fans.
On the work front, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is busy working on his next film ‘Spirit’ starring Prabhas. Reportedly, Prabhas will be portraying the character of an angry young cop in the film. Sandeep’s style will be evident in the film as it will have no compromise on violence. Additionally, Prabhas’ ‘Spirit’ would be far larger and grander than Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, according to earlier revelations by production designer Suresh Selvarajan. The film will be produced by ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Animal’ producer Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner.
After the enormous success of ‘Animal’, there was an official announcement of the sequel of the film titled ‘Animal Park’. According to the rumours that have been doing the rounds on social media, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga will start production of the film in 2026. ‘Animal’ was released on December 01 and it collected over Rs 1000 crores at the box office.
