Riddhima Kapoor Sahani has usually been away from the limelight despite the fact that she belongs to a film family – her parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, brother Ranbir Kapoor have been actors. Riddhima is now set to make her acting debut with the next season of ‘Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Lives’. In a recent interview, Riddhima opened up on her love story with her husband Bharat Takhtani, her parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.
Riddhima spoke about her father Rishi Kapoor‘s cancer treatment.She said that people trolled them for actually not looking upset during Rishi’s cancer. Riddhima said during a chat with Galatta India that during that time, the family was each other’s support. She revealed that if she would be upset then her parents would also be upset, hence, she had to keep up a strong front. Meanwhile, if her mother Neetu would look upset then even the children would get upset. So, they had to keep a strong front for each other. “We were trying to give each other stregnth becuase if my mother sees me upset, she will be upset. So, I’m just trying to be happy for my dad because he would not like to see my cry. They don’t know what we went through, but we were just giving each other support.”
She further added, “Only we know what we went through and people were saying that we were not looking upset.” Riddhima revealed that it was the toughest phase of their lives, also because Covid was at its peak and there was lockdown.
Riddhima further added that Rishi wanted to just be a part of movies and be in front of the camera, even when he was unwell. She further revealed that Rishi was responding very well to the medicines and was recovering but the Cancer came back aggressively. “It came back. It came back very quickly, it was very aggressive. We did spend Diwali together, we went out. He was very was so happy, attended all the Diwali parties, we spent Diwali together and next thing, in a few months, he is back in the hospital,” she revealed.
