A new steakhouse called Pierre Pierre is slated to open in Oakland’s iconic Tribune Tower this week, a collaboration between private chef Cleashaun Pierre Hill and Pierre Delince, also known as Jackboy, a Florida rapper who has recently been accused of domestic violence.

Chef-owner Hill has been a private chef for members of the San Francisco 49ers, as well as touring rappers like Lil Jon and his business partner Jackboy, he told the San Francisco Business Times. In an Instagram comment on a post about the upcoming restaurant from OfficialFloridaPromo, Hill shared that the restaurant is partly named after Jackboy.

Delince, who lists Pierre Pierre in his Instagram bio, has faced several legal complaints recently in his home state. On Sept. 15, the rapper was arrested in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on charges of burglary and cyberstalking, as first reported by XXL. That arrest was related to an encounter at the home of his former girlfriend, the musician Lexis Berrios, also known as Lexxstasy, who later posted on social media accusing Jackboy of assaulting her. On Oct. 17, a judge granted Berrios a restraining order against Delince over allegations of domestic violence.

Charges related to the September arrest were later reduced to misdemeanor trespass, which Delince has pleaded not guilty to. When reached by phone, Hill said he did not believe the allegations against his business partner. SFGATE could not reach Delince’s lawyer for comment by time of publication.

Pierre Pierre is slated to open Dec. 8, according to Hill’s Instagram. It is the latest restaurant to take over the large space on the ground floor of the historic Tribune Tower, which most recently hosted a yearlong Creole pop-up called Oko. The first restaurant to take over the space was Chris Pastena’s Tribune Tavern, which opened in 2013, a few years after the Oakland Tribune moved out of the building.
