Fans of the 2023 film Animal can rejoice as Ranbir Kapoor has offered exciting glimpses of its highly anticipated sequel, Animal Park. In a recent interview with comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India, Kapoor shared intriguing details about the upcoming project.
Ranbir Kapoor hints at “Darker, deeper” Animal sequel: “Sandeep Reddy Vanga has the courage to go even darker”
“Sandeep Reddy Vanga (director) has one or two scenes of Animal Park ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting,” Kapoor revealed, igniting the curiosity of fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of the dark crime saga.
He further added, “Now, because of the success of part one, Vanga has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper and more complex. He can do anything.” This statement suggests a potential shift in tone for Animal Park, potentially venturing into even bleaker territory than its predecessor.
For the unversed, Animal concluded with a post credits scene hinting at a sequel, leaving audiences with unresolved questions and a new conflict brewing. The film, despite its box office success, sparked controversy for alleged glorification of misogyny. However, the makers have defended the film, and stated that it was not intended to influence reality or promote harmful ideologies.
Released on Netflix earlier this month, Animal delved into the complexities of a toxic father-son relationship amidst the gritty world of crime and the underworld. It garnered over Rs 550 crores at the Indian box office, cementing its commercial success. Besides Kapoor, it also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
