Popular cereal pulled from supermarket shelves such as Tesco’s as it’s ‘unsafe to eat’

Kellogg’s has issued a recall for boxes of its chocolate flavour Kellogg’s Corn Flakes sold in Tesco, One Stop, Londis, Budgens, Booker Premier stores and Booker Cash & Carry outlets.

The recall was prompted by the potential presence of hard lumps of food within the product, rendering it “unsafe to eat” by the FSA.

Kellogg’s said: “We have become aware of a very low level of small hard lumps forming in our new Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour.

“These hard lumps of food could cause dental harm or be a choking hazard and, as a precaution, we are recalling this product.”

The FSA has advised consumers to dispose of the faulty product that would have the best-before dates ranging from December 6 2024 to 28 April 2025. The FSA warned customers: “If you have bought the product do not eat it.”

Elsewhere, Tesco has recalled its 295g Tesco sandwich pickle because of the possible presence of glass which, therefore, poses a “safety risk”.

Tesco said: “We have been made aware that a specific date/batch code of Tesco Sandwich Pickle 295gjar may contain small pieces of glass. Therefore, this product could pose a safety risk if consumed.

“Please do not consume this product and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.

“Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused. If you require further details, please contact Customer Services.”
