The countdown to Christmas is on, and one of the biggest highlights of the day is the food.
Whether it’s tucking into chocolate for breakfast or waiting for the after dinner cheeseboard, the food on Christmas Day is unmatched.
Like Sunday dinners, Christmas dinner comes in all shapes and sizes depending on family traditions and where you are in the UK.
There are some undisputed favourites: turkey, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes and of course gravy.
But there are some which can cause some controversy, whether it be brussels sprouts, cauliflower cheese or a northern favourite, Yorkshire puddings.
Yorkshire puddings are simple to make, just needing milk, flour, eggs and sizzling hot fat to pour them in.
The perfect accompaniment to Sunday dinner, the debate has been sparked as to whether they should be served alongside turkey and all the trimmings on December 25th.
X (formally Twitter) users are torn on including the batter-based dish on their Christmas dinners.
User @JamesHoyland6 tweeted: “Of course a Yorkshire pudding belongs on a Christmas dinner, it’s a tradition to have them, ESPECIALLY the big ones where you can put the rest of your dinner inside it.”
While @BeAwesomeBeAdam said: “For me Yorkshire pudding does not belong on a Christmas dinner !!!!!!”
And @DarrenAngus posted: “Love Yorkshire pudding but not on a Christmas dinner.”
