A plane passenger has sparked a heated conversation about traveling with your partner after she revealed that she was sandwiched between a couple on a recent flight because none of them wanted to give up their seat.
Sydney Miller, from Miami, Florida, recently went viral on TikTok after she opened up about how she ended up sitting in the middle of two lovers on an airplane.
In a video shared to the platform, the Miami-native explained she was assigned a middle seat, with one half of the couple sat on her left in the window seat and the other on her right in the aisle seat.
She said they initially asked her if she’d switch and take the window so they could sit alongside each other in the aisle and middle seats, but Sydney was quick to shoot them down.
Instead, she offered to swap to the aisle seat so they could be in the window and middle, but they weren’t interested in that offer – ultimately leaving her in-between them for the entirety of the three-hour flight.

‘I ended up in a middle seat surrounded by a couple who didn’t want to switch to be next to each other because neither wanted the middle and honestly, I respect it,’ Sydney wrote in a clip that showed her sitting in her middle seat on the flight.
‘I kinda get it and respect putting themselves first what but what do you guys think?’ she asked in the caption.
In a follow-up, Syndey shed some further light on the incident, adding, ‘They asked if I wanted to switch to the window but I hate the window so I said no.
‘I said I’m happy to switch to the aisle but they didn’t want to do that so they sat window and aisle and I sat in the middle.’
Sydney also told Newsweek that the ordeal occurred back in October while she was traveling on an American Airlines flight from New York to Miami.
‘I usually prefer the aisle so I can get in and out to the bathroom easily,’ she dished.
She explained to the publication that the couple didn’t ‘interact’ and ‘remained quiet’ throughout the entire flight, so despite her being between them, things never turned awkward.
Viewers quickly took to the comment section of her initial video, which was viewed more than 2.5 million times, to share their thoughts on the topic – and many users confessed that they actually enjoy sitting separate from their partners when they fly.
