With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to bite, it seems like everyone is looking for a way to bring the cost of their bills down.

Some 45 per cent of people are now more worried about their energy bills than they were last year, according to research from Amazon.

So, these prompts can really come in handy.

This is especially true if you have a smart heating system installed in your home.

The prompts don’t just save you money, either.

Alexa can also help to eliminate arguments over turning the lights off, too.

Amazon’s research found that nearly half of Brits have disagreements with their family or housemates over lights being left on in the house when no one is in the room.

But at least one if these prompts can quash those squabbles.

Earlier this year, Amazon announced customers would be able to access a smart energy dashboard via the Loop Energy Saver skill to help them monitor their energy usage.

Amazon has also worked with the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero to bring the UK government’s latest energy saving tips to customers.

Here are three prompts customers can ask their Alexa to save money:

  • “Alexa, show me my energy dashboard”
  • Alexa, how much energy am I using?”
  • “Alexa, give me some energy saving tips”
