Parts of Telok Blangah Hill Park trails closed for repairs until 2026 following slope failure

SINGAPORE: Certain sections of the trails at Telok Blangah Hill Park will be closed to visitors over the next two years for repair works.

This was caused by heavy and prolonged rain on Feb 28, 2023, which resulted in a slope failure at the park’s elevated Forest Walk, said the National Parks Board (NParks) in response to CNA’s queries on Monday (Apr 22).

NParks first closed off the Forest Walk on Mar 1, 2023 after being alerted to the slope failure at the site earlier that day.

For public safety and to facilitate the works in the area, the agency said it has closed the eastern section of the Forest Walk and the Earth Trail for repair works until end-July 2026.

“The works are necessary to stabilise the slope and strengthen the foundation of the elevated walkway. We will replant suitable vegetation cover after the slope stabilisation works are completed,” said NParks.
