Orlando Pirates coach heaps praise on these two players

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has singled out two first players for praise.

This comes following his side’s 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows on Sunday afternoon.

Karim Kimvuidi and Katlego Otladisa were handed rare starts at the Mpumalanga Stadium and both players left a lasting impression on the Spanish tactician.

Orlando Pirates duo impress Jose Riveiro

“I think Katlego is only cramping. A long time not playing these amounts of minutes. The rhythm of the game was high.” Jose Riveiro said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“So if you think about that, if we contextualize his presence in the starting eleven, like the first one, we can say that it was an excellent one. But he still has a big gap to improve, being a better player.

“And the same with Karim and with everybody else. Pirates is a quality side, we all know. But like I said the important is that when they have the chance, they can show that there’s a reason why they are here.”

“Now it’s 13 games in the league and we haven’t conceded a goal in open play, only in set pieces and transitions so far.” Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro said as quoted by Sowetan regarding his side’s defensive stability.

“More than the clean sheets, that tells you more about the level of commitment when we are not in possession. Obviously not conceding helps you to be close to win…one goal is usually enough for us to get maximum points.

“Even though we are an offensive team, when we lose the ball everybody is defending. To be honest, it is not an obsession. I am happy because there are people in the backroom who work very hard to make it possible, so it makes me feel happy for them.”
