Ops Selamat: 14 deaths, 1,203 accidents on Feb 11

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,480 vehicles were involved in road accidents on the fourth day of Ops Selamat which began on Thursday (Feb 8), says Comm Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director said a total of 1,203 accidents occurred nationwide on Sunday (Feb 11), resulting in 14 fatalities.

“Federal roads recorded the highest fatalities with five cases, followed by state roads with four, highways with two, city roads with one and other roads with two cases,” he said when contacted on Monday (Feb 12).

Comm Mohd Azman urged all road users, especially motorcyclists, to ride carefully and focus on the journey.

“All road users, be they pedestrians, motorcyclists or motorists, should cooperate in reducing the number of accidents, especially fatal ones,” he added.
