O2 customers receive free phone upgrade in time for Christmas by texting a special code

O2 is giving customers a free data boost ahead of Christmas.

The network is offering selected plans up to triple their usual allowance.

You’ll need to text a special code to receive the perk

Pay As You Go users with a Rolling Plan or Big Bundle can take advantage by texting a special code.

The Rolling Plans start at 30GB and go all the way up to 250GB.

Meanwhile, with a Big Bundle, phone owners can take advantage of 20GB through to 200GB.

Rolling Plan

  • £10 – 10GB 30GB
  • £15 – 30GB 60GB
  • £20 – 50GB 150GB
  • £30 – 150GB 250GB

Big Bundle

  • £10 – 8GB 20GB
  • £15 – 25GB 50GB
  • £20 – 40GB 120GB
  • £30 – 125GB 200GB

The offer is available until January 31 next year, after which it’ll revert to the previous allowance.

To take advantage, customers can text ‘MORE’ to 2424.

Festive freebies

The move comes as Virgin Media O2 recently announced a tasty freebie for all customers.

For a limited time, people can grab a free mince pie from Greggs.

Anyone who doesn’t like mince pies can opt for a doughnut instead.
