Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall completes Besiktas loan move

Joe Worrall has completed a loan move to Turkish club Besiktas.

The deal for the Nottingham Forest captain includes an option to make the move permanent.

The 27-year-old centre-back was spotted in Turkey at Besiktas’ Super Lig game against Trabzonspor on Sunday.

He underwent a medical this morning and the final details of the deal have now been completed.

Worrall has found game time hard to come by this season, being limited to just nine appearances in all competitions.

The Englishman, who signed a new three-year deal last summer, found himself out of the first-team picture earlier in the season following a disagreement with Steve Cooper.

After Cooper’s dismissal in December, Worrall appeared in Forest’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United on Boxing Day but has not featured for the side in the Premier League since.

He was absent from the Forest squad for their 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

Worrall, an academy graduate who joined the club in 2011, has since made 226 first team appearances for Forest.

He made 30 appearances in the Premier League last season as Forest secured their status in their first season back in the top flight.
