Actress Neha Dhupia has completed over 20 years in the film industry. She recently attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision Bharat event where she spoke about how the rise and boom of OTT has helped her and several other actors.
Neha Dhupia reveals, “Had there been no OTT, I would have been unemployed”
Neha made her OTT debut with filmmaker Behzad Khambata’s thriller movie A Thursday, which was released directly on the web in 2022. The movie mainly starred Yami Gautam but it also saw Neha in an interesting role as a pregnant cop, who negotiates in a hostage situation. She shot the film when she was pregnant in real life.
Speaking about how OTT has created a revolution for actors, Neha said at the event, “Had there been no OTT, I would have been unemployed. OTT has turned out to be a survival bait for many actors in current times.” Talking about the change brought in by OTT in terms of content, she added, “After the boom of OTT, the diaspora in Indian cinema and entertainment has completely changed for good. OTT has brought a new lease of life to many senior actors.”
Amidst this transformative wave, Neha Dhupia embarks on new horizons, marking her international debut with Blue 52 and venturing into the OTT realm with Therapy Sherapy, a project centred on mental health awareness. Additionally, she will also return as the producer and host for the 6th edition of her podcast No Filter with Neha.
