Coach Tyronn Lue has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for his public comments regarding the officiating and the integrity of the officials following the Clippers’ victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
Lue was ejected in the fourth quarter after receiving two technical fouls. After the game, he was caught on camera after claiming the referees were “cheating” as the players came off the court.
“Where the refs at now? Cheating. That’s all they be doing. Where they at now?” Lue said.
The Clippers trailed by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter before rallying for a 130-125 victory in San Francisco. The win snapped a string of six consecutive Clippers losses, and 20 of their past 24, on the Warriors’ home court.
Lue’s fine came one day after the NBA imposed a $75,000 fine on the Clippers’ P.J. Tucker for his public trade demands. The forward, acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the James Harden trade, has not appeared in a game for the Clippers since Nov. 27.
