Mrunal Thakur Reveals Parents’ Disapproval of Kissing Scenes in Films Led to Missed Opportunities: ‘Had to Say No’

Mrunal Thakur mentioned that she had to clarify to her parents that kissing scenes are a component of her profession.

Mrunal Thakur is known for her performance in several South films. The actor leaves an impression on her fans mind. Whether in Bollywood or the South industry, Mrunal has enthralled her fans with her performance in movies such as Jersey to Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna. However, there was a period when the actress turned down numerous films because the roles involved intimate scenes. She disclosed that her parents were uneasy with her performing such scenes, and there came a time when she had to firmly communicate to them that she couldn’t continue declining film offers.

Mrunal Reveals Her Parent’s Opinion

During a conversation with iDiva, Mrunal revealed that she was not comfortable doing romantic intimate scenes with her co-stars. The actor revealed that her parents did not allow her to intimate scenes and there came a point when she had to talk to them about it. She said, “I would just get scaredI’d just say no to a film, but how long could I say no? There was a point I had to sit down with my parents and tell them ‘Papa, I cannot miss a part because sometimes it’s thereit’s not my choice.’”

“As much as I wanted to do a film, I had to drop because there was a kissing scene involved. As an actor, you need to be ready because sometimes that’s the demand (of the scene). If you are not comfortable, you can tell, you can talk about it, but I kept missing out on films because of that.”

In her recent Instagram post, Mrunal Thakur, who was recently seen in Family Star alongside Vijay Deverakonda, shared insights into the hurdles she encountered in portraying her character, Indu. The actor said,  “Every character I play on-screen leaves a mark on my heart. In order to do justice to Indu’s role, I need to be Indu and not just put on her shoes, but walk a mile in them. Bringing her to life was a little challenging at first, but I slowly started to understand her and once I got a hang of it, there was no looking back, and I don’t think I want to let go of that just yet.” The actress concluded the note with a sweet message as she added, “Hope you enjoyed watching Indu as much as I enjoyed walking in her shoes.”
