TRAVEL experts have rounded up the best hotels in the country for pet-owners.
More and more people want to include their four-legged friends in their trips these days.
Big 7 Travel have trawled through hotels, guest houses and B&Bs to reveal the best places to have a pet in tow.
And the top dog-friendly hotel in Scotland is Trigony House.
The hotel and spa is set is in the beautiful Nith Valley, surrounded by the rolling hills and woodland in the Dumfries and Galloway area.
A Big 7 spokesperson said: “While traditional hotels may have pet-friendly facilities like dog bowls, the hotels listed are extra special.
“They go above and beyond for their four-legged guests– think dog bowls, dog/cat beds, pet packages, and their own separate dining menus and even pet pampering in spas.”
Dogs are not just allowed but welcomed at Trigony, according to the website.
The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside that is perfect for exploring.
Meanwhile, staff provide all pet-owners with a welcome pack for every dog that stays which includes a map of the land with all the best walks in the area as well as doggy treats.
The Big 7 team, who voted Trigony as fifth most pet-friendly hotel in the UK, said: “You know that you and your pet will be in for a real treat here. With numerous activities available for booking, plus an outdoor spa and comfortable, spacious rooms, there is much to love about this Scottish hotel.
“Your pet will be pleased to receive a map of the best places for walkies, plus dog treats, bed and towels, a dog-wash station for dogs who’ve had a little too much fun in the Scottish countryside, and a pet breakfast menu.
“If you want to explore the surrounding areas without your pet, a pet sitter can be booked. There are also dog training courses available here.”
There is a charge for dogs – at £15 per night – but the hotel says that every pooch that stays at Trigony gets their own passport, and after four stays the fifth is free for furry friends.
