Dubbed as the ‘Oscars of fashion’ Met Gala touches anyone and everyone who is even remotely interested in the world of fashion. So, when this year’s theme was announced, everyone was talking. But what is the theme of Met Gala 2024? The organiser, Vogue, shared an Instagram post announcing the Met Gala 2024 theme to be ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.’ The short clip has all Disney vibes, mostly inspired by Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast. It has a huge crimson-red rose at the end after giving a glimpse of dark forests, falling green leaves, and colourful butterflies. The theme looks captivating enough, if not as extravagant, as Met Gala 2018’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme. Fashion enthusiasts and avid Met Gala followers did not seem too excited about the theme, in fact, the comments section chimed in together, borrowing Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly’s famous dialogue “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking” from the 2006 movie The Devil Wears Prada!
