There is nothing better than a tasty pasta dish, and this recipe is perfect for anyone who wants to make something delicious in no time at all.
Mary Berry’s creamy bacon and parmesan pasta is the perfect weekday recipe as it is quick to cook and is made with simple ingredients you likely already have at home.
In her cookbook ‘Quick Cooking’ Mary wrote: “Here is a delicious sauce that can be on the table in only 15 minutes.”
This is the best dinner for anyone who wants something homecooked that tastes incredible without having to spend ages fussing over a stove or complicated recipe.
This comforting dish uses only one pan for the sauce and one pot to make the pasta, meaning you will also save time on washing up as well.
Method
To begin, add the dried pasta to a pot of salted water, bring to a boil and leave to simmer, then cook following the packet instructions.
Heat the oil in a frying pan for a few minutes, then add the bacon.
Cook on high heat for five minutes until the fat has rendered and the bacon is slightly browned.
Add the cream and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and gently simmer for one minute.
Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese to melt. Then, squeeze the lemon juice into the mixture to cut through the richness.
Season well with pepper but be careful with the salt, as the bacon may already be quite salty.
