Two children were making their way to school when they were stopped by the man, who was wearing all black clothes, and he asked them to take his hand.

But after the young girls refused, the alarming stranger told them he would be back at 3pm when school ends.

The youngsters alerted their teachers to the incident, who quickly called the police.

Parents have been left alarmed by the incident, with one telling the Glasgow Times: “If he’s standing outside school gates at 8.45am with a balaclava on, I assume that’s a planned event.

“And because he failed that morning, he could go to another school.”

Cops are probing the sinister incident and have been scouring CCTV and going door-to-door to try and find any information about who the man is.

All other local schools in the area were alerted about the stranger and police have upped their patrols in the area. Community cops are also giving ‘Stranger Danger‘ talks to youngsters at the school.

A letter sent to parents read: “Police Scotland has been contacted by the school alerting them to an incident that happened yesterday morning.
