Leah had been reported missing from Sherston, near Malmesbury, after being seen last at around 7.30pm on December 29.

It’s thought she might have got into a dark-coloured estate car near the Angel Café on the village high street.

“A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.”

The news comes just hours after Leah’s mum made an emotional appeal for her daughter to let her know where she was.

Her mum, Sarah, issued a fresh plea earlier on Sunday in a desperate bid to find her.

Sarah, said: “Please come home, you’re not in trouble. We all miss you, your brothers and sisters miss you.”

“Just please let us know where you are.”

Sarah said she just wanted to know that her daughter is okay.

She added: “She’s a kind, caring, loving little girl who loves to help with her brothers and sisters.

“Just a heart of gold really.”

A group of around 30 locals met at 9am to start a three-hour search for Leah this morning.
