Man arrested after woman ‘mowed down in hit-and-run’ near Scots road

A MAN has been arrested following an alleged “hit-and-run” that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Mercy crews raced to Muirhouse Parkway in the capital after the alarm was raised around 4:10pm yesterday.

Cops confirmed a 63-year-old female was rushed to hospital after being allegedly mowed down.

A 61-year-old man, who left the scene, was later traced and arrested.

Video of the alleged attack has been seen by The Scottish Sun.

Cops stood guard at a large cordon and a police tent was erected over an area where the injured woman was being treated by medics.

Forensic officers were seen carrying out their investigation near cars that were parked in the street.

The road was closed for several hours and diversions were in place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.10pm on Sunday, 14 April, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a 63-year-old female pedestrian and a car on Muirhouse Parkway, Edinburgh.

“The woman was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
