Make Jamie Oliver’s one-pan Italian sausage pasta recipe in only 14 minutes

Pasta is a delicious meal and is beloved due to how versatile it is, but some recipes can be overcomplicated and stressful to make.

However, Jamie Oliver has developed a simple Italian recipe which is all cooked in one pan, including the pasta, and only takes under 15 minutes to cook from scratch.

This silky pasta is made in a rich tomato sauce to make it as flavorful as possible, with sausage meat, garlic and fennel seeds to give it an irresistible taste.

Jamie first shared this recipe in his cookbook ‘Simple One-Pan Wonders’ and is the perfect recipe if you wish for something cheap and easy yet hearty and delicious for dinner.

It is also a perfect recipe for a ‘fakeaway’ meal if you are craving some comfort food but are trying to not spend money on a takeaway.

Instructions

To begin, prepare the ingredients. Peel and slice the garlic and chop up the parsley leaves.

Then, boil the kettle and cut the lasagna sheets lengthways into strips to make pappardelle pasta.

Place a frying pan on the stove at a high heat, and once hot drizzle in some olive oil into the pan.

Squeeze the sausage meat out of the skin and into the pan, breaking it up with a spoon. If using a vegetarian sausage, crumble or slice it up.

Cook the sausage meat for two minutes, then add the garlic, fennel seeds and parsley to the pan.

Once the meat is golden in colour, add a splash of red wine and then add the passata to the pan.

Allow the pasta sauce to simmer for a few minutes, then scatter the pasta in the pan.

Carefully pour in enough boiling water from the kettle to just cover the pasta, which should roughly be around 300ml.

Leave the pasta is cook for four minutes or until the pasta has absorbed the water.

The pasta sauce should be nice and rich. Make sure to keep stirring while the pasta is cooking and add a splash of water if the sauce appears too thick.

Once ready, turn off the heat and season with salt and pepper.

Finish by grating parmesan cheese on top of the pasta and a little drizzle of olive oil if you prefer, and your delicious pasta is ready.
